SILK ROAD MUSIC:
Silk Road Music – led by virtuoso pipa player and Mandarin educator, Qiu Xia He, for over 10 years this quintet has been playing Chinese folk songs with Western performance techniques throughout Canada and the US Northwest. The group was featured as part of the Canadian Parliament’s Sound and Light Show and recently performed a concert in London at the invitation of the BBC. Other instruments used are the erhu, guitar, and the Chinese guitar. Annually performing over 200 in-school educational lectures/demos and concerts throughout US and Canada.
