FANTCHA:
Fantcha – protégé of Cesaria Evora who has performed with her often. She sings the bluesy songs of morna and coladeira. Her songs are filled with the romantic, acoustic sound of Cape Verdean music. Fantcha's torch-style songs and dance numbers appeal to lovers of Brazilian music and always stimulate the crowd to dance. Her sensual, beautiful voice showcases the African, Cuban, and Brazilian influences in her music. This year she performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Chicago World Music Festival, and Summerstage in New York, among others.
