FANFARE CIOCARLIA:
Fanfare Ciocarlia –10 piece Romanian Gypsy brass band currently on tour with Gypsy Caravan 2. The bulk of their music is village dance music using trumpets, clarinets, and saxophones on melody and baritone and tenor horns and tubas for rhythm and harmony. They also play tangos, foxtrots, and rumbas as part of the musical dialogue between East and West, rural and urban, and old and new, saluting the resilience of Romanian music under trying conditions.
