BRAZZAVILLE:

Brazzaville is the brainchild of L.A.-based saxophonist and songwriter David Brown (known for recording and touring with Beck) who has engaged an ensemble of eclectic musicians to record three albums to date of "Tropicalia" type sounds, inspired by his world travels and misadventures. Brazzaville's sound is eclectic and hauntingly romantic, featuring languid instrumentation and dream-like vocals that evoke a palpable and world-weary moodiness.

Brazzaville's musicians' cultural backgrounds and musical styles span the globe, with members hailing from such far ranging places as Zaire, the Caribbean Islands, Los Angeles and NYC. Members of Brazzaville have recorded and toured with many notable musicians including: Beck, Fiona Apple, Cibo Matto, Ben Lee, Sean Lennon, the Lemonheads, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, Ozomatli, and X, among many others. Brazzaville has played venues ranging from the Wadsworth Theatre at UCLA to the Knitting Factory and Lava Lounge in Hollywood.
