AMERICA CONTEMPORANEA:
Conceived by pianist Benjamim Taubkin, America Contemporanea brings to fruition his long-held dream of having South American artists of 8 different nationalities playing together on the same stage, each one bringing the music representative of his country.
“The diversity and richness of music made in South America is impressive,” says Taubkin. “The fact of the matter is that we only have impersonal information about these places. Everything we know comes from international agencies, which, generally only show the exotic side. These places do have a level of sophistication also. They have live music, creativity. Yes, with tradition, but with an eye to the future."
